Five generations of FATHERS and SONS

Leighlin Road

In this bittersweet memoir, writer and filmmaker Martin Duffy looks back on the formative and teen years of his life growing up in the working-class Dublin suburb of Crumlin.
LEIGHLIN ROAD is mostly witty and fond and, at times, laugh-out-loud funny. But it has dark undertones. It creates on paper images from a writer steeped in film.

The Book Collection

LEIGHLIN ROAD, being my memoir of the first 21 years of my life, is still in print. I wrote it to mark my 70th birthday.
BARNEY AND MOLLY in its new 2023 revised edition is the last I will present about how I researched facts before you and I entered the world of emotional history.
VICEREGAL MICROBE is the somewhat complicated story of how a member of British royalty wanted to fight against the spread of tuberculosis in Ireland (my own father's mother died of tuberculosis) but the rising Republican fight for freedeom mocked and stopped her because of her royal background.
THE TRADE UNION PINT is a fine book with its own pitch: the best employer in Ireland fought against trade unionism: if you have the best pay and working conditions, what else do you want? The workers wanted a voice.
NOT YET was me helping my brother Bill tell his amazing life story.
